Borno youth nab terror suspects

09 August 2013, 10:20

Abuja - Members of the Borno Vigilance Youths Group (BVYG) have arrested 13 terror suspects during two separate raids.

The suspects were arrested at the Borno Express Terminus and Barawa in Gwoza Local Council of the state.
Abubakar Mallum, the BVYG Chairman said 10 suspects were arrested at Barawa while others were captured at the terminus in Borno.

“It took our members about an hour before this man and his wife revealed the locations and motives behind carrying two AK 47 rifle magazines in their travelling bag at the Motor Park,” he said of the Borno operation.

In Barawa, one suspect was killed while another was released for lack of evidence linking him to membership of the Boko Haram sect.

Mallum said all the arrested suspects, along with the recovered rifles, have been handed over to commanders of the Joint Task Force on terror in Maiduguri. JTF spokesman, Sagir Musa, confirmed the arrests.
