Abuja - President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari has sent former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to South Africa to lobby for the candidacy of Nigeria’s Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, as President of the African Development Bank (AfDB), reports The Sun.
Buhari mandated Atiku to use his contacts in the continent to lobby for the emergence of Adesina.
Atiku travelled with Adesina to South Africa on Saturday where the two met with President Jacob Zuma at the Presidential Residence in Durban.

During the meeting, the issue of South Africa and the Southern African region support for Nigeria’s candidate was exhaustively discussed.
