The famous ThisDay Bomber, Mustapha Umar, on Friday was sentenced to life imprisonment by a Federal High Court in Abuja, according to Sahara Reporters.
Umar was found guilty of one count charge of terrorism for his role in the 2012 bombing of SOJ Plaza in Kaduna state occupied by ThisDay, The Moment and The Sun Newspapers.
On April 26 2012, Umar drove a car packed with improvised explosive devices (IEDs) into the SOJ Plaza, the resulting explosion led to the death of three people and left many injured.
Though he pleaded not guilty, the court relied on confessions he made during interrogation where he admitted to being a member of the deadly Boko Haram.
