Gwagwalada - An Upper Area Court Sitting in Gwagwalada, FCT, on Monday ordered one Uba Daniel, 27, to be remanded in prison custody for defiling an 11-year-old girl.
The judge, Alhaji Alhassan Kusherki, gave the order after listening to the accused person's plea and adjourned the case till August 13 for further mention.
While taking his plea, the accused said he was guilty with a reason.
“I am guilty but, I was careful with her while doing it,” he said
The prosecutor, Insp Martha Paul, had earlier told the court that Malam Musa Gawu of Abaji Area Council reported the matter at Gwagwalada Police Station on July 8.
Paul said the accused had on July 4 at about 14h30 enticed the complainant’s daughter and had carnal knowledge of her without her consent.
The prosecutor, who said the offence contravened Section 275 of the Penal Code, applied for the adjournment after Daniel’s guilty plea.
