Crack team rescues kidnap victims in Ekiti State

Abuja - The crack squad recently deployed to fight incidents of kidnapping in Ekiti State has rescued ten victims since its deployment.

Emmanuel Ojukwu, the Police Force’s spokesperson, disclosed the breakthrough.

Ojukwu said some suspects had been arrested but he could not offer more details.

“The victims are being debriefed and receiving medical attention. Some kidnappers have been arrested and the operation is ongoing,” he said.

He said the Police remain responsive and shall continue to apply proactive and prompt response measures to issues of crime nationwide.

The Inspector-General of Police, Solom Arase, last week dispatched a crack squad to Ekiti State to tackle the rampant cases of kidnap in the state.

The deployment followed a request by the Governor Ayodele Fayose.
