Abia - It is alleged that members of the Abia State Assembly
are heading to a major crisis after lawmakers of the All Progressive Congress
Grand Alliance threatened to shutdown the leadership due to the N30 billion
loan that was approved, Punch reported.
The aggrieved lawmakers have accused Speaker, Martins
Azubuike, in deceiving them into approving the loan without giving them
detailed information about it.

According to the lawmakers, the loan was meant for finance
some developmental projects in the state but it was not for that, instead it
was clear debts owed by the state.
The debts owed by the state include salary arrears and debt
owed to contractors.
