Delta State culture centre set for commissioning

Abuja - The Delta State’s Training Centre for Arts and Craft will be commissioned in the coming weeks ahead of the inauguration of the incoming government, Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan, said.

A new administration led by Ifenayi Okowa of Uduaghan’s People’s Democratic Party, will assume office on May 29.

Uduaghan gave the assurance of the commissioning of the arts and culture facility on Thursday after touring the centre in Emede in the Isoko South local government area.

“I stopped over to see this skill acquisition centre, which is meant to train people on different vocations and after that they will be equipped set up their own businesses. We have built it, equipped it and in the next few weeks, it will be opened to train our people,” the governor said.

He said everything that was required for the centre to operate fully and empower beneficiaries had been put in place.

The governor added that beneficiaries of the programmes at the centre would be empowered through the micro-credit programme to enable them become entrepreneurs and employers of labour.
