Delta - The Chairperson of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF), Dr Ngozi Olejeme, has alerted the public of fraudsters using a fake social network accounts purportedly belonging to her to dupe people of money.
The NSITF executive, who is also vying for office as the first female governor of the oil-rich Delta State, said she had no official Facebook or any other social media account and thus urged members of the public to be wary of fraudsters using her name to commit fraud.
Her spokesperson, Ben Atu, also disowned a group known as “Friends of Olejeme,” which he said has also been engaging in fraudulent activities using the NSITF leader’s name.
“We have come to discover that some people are using a Facebook page, Friends of Ngozi Olejeme to collect money from people,” Atu said.
He said the fraudsters had also been using two emails, firstname.lastname@example.org and email@example.com, to solicit for funds from people.
Describing those behind Column Trust Limited as “scammers” and “bunch of hungry people,” Atu advised Nigerians at home and abroad, particularly skilled workers, not to fall prey to the “antics” of these “criminal elements.”
He appealed to the police and other security agencies to investigate the matter.
