Abuja - Prominent Sapele political leaders
have endorsed the leadership of Delta State Governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa.
The leaders also praised the House of Assembly Speaker,
Ovwigho Igbuya, for his contributions to the development of Sapele.
“The PDP government is providing basic infrastructure
with a view to stimulating growth and development in the state, particularly
Sapele,” spokesperson of Sapele Political Forum (SPF), Michael Ohwoworode,
He said the contributions of Ovwigho to the development
of Sapele were impossible to estimate.
"He has the interests of all in mind,"
Overall, the leaders were upbeat at the state's prospects
with Okowa at the helm.
“In Delta State, we have seen hopes maturing to reality.
The government has put smiles on the faces of the people by executing
programmes that have direct impact in the lives of the people,” Ohwoworode

He welcomed Okowa's appointment of Sapele people into key
positions of his administration.
Other projects include renovating Sapele Technical
College as well as plans to complete the Sapele Market, Sapele Township
Stadium and Adeola Road.
There are plans to dualise the Sapele - Warri Road and
"Okowa wants to make Delta State stable and prosperous.
He is moving with great zeal and vigour to make the difference,” Ohwoworode
He welcomed the governor's leadership style.
“We have a governor that is providing responsible,
accountable and transparent leadership to the people. He is providing the
economic and political leadership that we need.”
Sapele is a key city in Delta State, established as a
trading village and occasionally visited by Europeans in the 19th century.
With a population of over 150 000 people, its industries
include the processing of timber, rubber, and palm oil, as well as furniture,
tamarind balm and footwear manufacturing. - CAJ News
