04 October 2013, 08:35

Lagos - The Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, on Thursday commiserated with families of the victims of the Associated airline plane crash which occurred on Thursday.

Orelope-Adefulire addressed the media after she visited survivors of the accident at the surgical section of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH).

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the aircraft conveying the body of a former governor of Ondo State, Dr Olusegun Agagu, for burial rites crashed few minutes after take-off in Lagos.

It had 20 persons on board.

The deputy-governor said "the survivors are here in LASUTH and in some other hospitals. We are awaiting the manifest of those on board from the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA)."

“Any member of the public that suspects that they have relatives on board, should come forward to know the medical procedure for recognition of the bodies,” she said.
