Ogun - The Ogun State Command of the NDLEA said on Wednesday in Abeokuta that it has secured life imprisonment jail terms for four drug traffickers between April and June this year.
The commander of the command, Mohammed Mohammed, said that another trafficker received a 15-year jail term.
He said that 25 other suspects were arrested during the period under review and were facing trial.
Mohammed said that a total 1,655 kg of cannabis were recovered from the suspects, regretting that drug abuse and trafficking in the state was on the increase.
He pledged that the command would not rest until the state was free of illicit drugs, appealing to the State Government to support the command with logistics and funds.
``I want to appeal to our dear governor to please support us in term of logistics. There is hardly any crime committed without the influence of drugs.
``It will be wise to invest in us so as to bring drug abuse and trafficking to its barest minimum,’’ he said.
