Lagos - The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has dismissed media reports that the governor-elect of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose, has been let off the hook concerning corruption charges against him, Osun Defender reports.
Fayose, the winner of the June 21 Ekiti governorship elections, has been under trial for allegation of financial misappropriation during his first term as the Ekiti governor from 2003-2006.
The EFCC said the immunity clause in the constitution is applicable to the President, the Vice President, sitting governors and their deputies, and not governors- elect.
