EFCC receives Canadian commendation

30 September 2014, 21:30

Abuja- The Royal Canadian Mounted Police has commended the professional achievements and conduct of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) officer.

According to a press statement by the commission, a lead investigator with the organisation, Norm Leger, gave the commendation following a two-week course on “Tactical Intelligence Analyis.”

“My impression of EFCC can be summed in just three words; very professional, high integrity and very competent. I have been very impressed to be honest. We have failed to recognize that EFCC is not a very junior organisation compared to other law enforcement agencies in the world but the level at which it conducts its investigations and exhibits professionalism is incredible,” Leger said.

The session at the EFCC Academy in Abuja was organized for investigators and analysts drawn from the EFCC, Nigeria Police and Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency by Royal Canadian Mounted Police among other stakeholders.

Leger added that the course, among other things, would help in fine tuning the knowledge and depth of Nigerian law enforcement officers, set a perspective that will lead to intelligence that would help investigation and assist in identifying and focusing on priority, trends and relationships.
