EFCC set to probe Madueke, NNPC

Abuja - The Economic and Financial crimes Commission (EFCC) has on Sunday revealed it has set up a four man committee to investigate the activities of former petroleum minister Alison-Madueke while in office during the immediate past administration of Goodluck Jonathan, Punch reports.

The committee is led by a commissioner of police and contains other civilian operatives with expertise in investigation

Alison-Madueke, former Chief Security Officer, J. Obuah were on Saturday accused of corrupt practices after the panel set up by president Buhari exposed details of purchase of an address stage for $6.9m.

A price that was far from the real price of the stages and which was wrongly deducted from the account of the NNPC.

Madueke was also accused of going to a meeting of the Oil Producing and Exporting Countries in Austria in a private jet.

It was gathered on Sunday that the committee set up by the EFCC had since commenced probing the NNPC accounts and activities of the former minister.
