EFCC to arraign Kano Civil Service Commissioner

14 February 2013, 07:26

Lagos - The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) will on Thursday Feb. 14, arraign a Kano State Civil Service Commissioner, Alhaji Aminu Gaya, in connection with the N22.3 million scam.

This arraignment is contained in a statement signed by its spokesman, Mr Wilson Uwujaren, in Lagos on Wednesday.

According to the statement, the suspect will be arraigned at a Federal High Court in Abuja on a four-count charge bordering on forgery.

The statement said Gaya, 61, who was arrested on Feb. 11 in Kano, allegedly forged three land title documents which he sold to prospective buyers for N22.3 million.

The statement stated that the crime was committed while Gaya was an administrative officer with the Federal Capital Development Authority in Abuja.

He was subsequently appointed Civil Service Commissioner in Kano State upon his retirement.
