Ekiti State aims to establish Israeli agro ties

30 October 2015, 21:18

Ekiti - The Ekiti Sate Government aims to explore partnerships with Israel to enhance the growth of the agricultural sector.

This follows Governor Ayodele Fayose returning from a trip to the Middle East country.

“My trip to Israel was both religious and economic,” Fayose said.

He was confident forging ties with Israel would enhance the growth of agriculture in the region.

“By God's grace, our state will experience great rebirth in all ramifications. I will use the fresh anointing from God to pray for our dear state. The agricultural opportunities we found out in Israel, we will further explore to bring the sector back to the forefront," Fayose said.

He went to Israel alongside his counterparts from Benue and Plateau States among others as well as the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara.

Agriculture is a highly developed industry in Israel.

The country is a major exporter of fresh produce and a world-leader in agricultural technologies despite the fact that the geography is not naturally conducive to farming.
