Borno - Elders in Borno state have kicked against purported plan by President Goodluck Jonathan to replace the Borno State governor, Kashim Shettima with a military administrator, Daily Post reports.
The elders under the aegis Borno Elders Forum said the the president refused to implement the recommendations made by various committees on the Boko Haram insurgence in the state.
They absolve the state governor of any wrong doing. They claimed the governor is not totally in charge of the armed troops sent in by the federal government despite being the chief security officer of the state.
The president had threatened to withdraw soldiers from the state during the President Media Chat on Monday over a statement made by the governor.
