Abuja - Enugu State Governor, Sullivan Chime, has refuted media reports that he has placed his wife, Clara, under house arrest in Enugu.
Chime was reported to have restrained the movement of his wife at the Enugu State Government House as a result of her health challenges, Vanguard reports.
The governor, in an interview session with the press, said he does not see why he would detain his wife at home when she had not committed any crime.
Clara Chime has also denied the allegation. She said she was not under any house detention and neither did she petition human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, on the matter.
Femi Falana, however, confirmed receiving a petition from the wife of the governor, requesting him to help her regain her freedom.
