Ibadan - The Oyo State Police Command has arrested a 35-year-old ex-convict for breaking into a gas shop in Ibadan.

The police spokesperson, DSP Olabisi Clet-Ilobanafor, disclosed this in Ibadan on Wednesday in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

She said that the ex-convict was arrested on Sept. 6 at about 12.00 noon near Aleshinloye market.

Police detectives, she said,  arrested the ex-convict in company of a 53-year-old man who resides at Oke-Ayo, Odo Ona area of Ibadan.

Clet-Ilobanafor said that the duo were  arrested in possession of nine 12.5kg empty gas cylinders and two 5kg empty gas cylinders valued at N102,000.

"On interrogation, it was discovered that the recovered items were stolen from a shop owned by one Ikechukwu Paul of  6, Ring Road,  Ibadan.

"The two men confessed to committing the crime and when their houses were searched, there was no additional exhibit found," she said.
