Ex-minister denies Jonathan spent 64bn on Independence anniversary

05 October 2015, 10:07

Abuja - Former minister of National Planning Abubakar Sulaiman,‎ has stated that  former President Goodluck Jonathan only spent N333 million on independence anniversaries and not the billions of naira alleged by the Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, Premium Times reports.

He dismissed as untrue speculations that the former administration spent the sum of N64 billion between 2011 and 2014 on independence ‎anniversary celebrations.

Sulaiman in a statement on Sunday described as “tissue of lies” the statement by El-Rufai on his facebook wall on Thursday that the Jonathan administration spent billions of naira on Nigeria’s independence anniversary celebrations in five years.
