FG installs plastic recycling plant in Katsina

Katsina - The Federal Government has installed a plastic recycling machine in Katsina in an efforts to improve environmental cleanliness in the state.

The Permanent Secretary, Ecological Funds Office, Musa Goni, said this on Friday when he led a delegation on a courtesy visit to Gov. Ibrahim Shema.

Goni said that they were in the state to inspect ongoing projects and interact with stakeholders on various environment-related matters to enable the office to provide the needs of people in the state.

He said that the machine would assist to maintain clean environment and create job opportunities, particularly to the unemployed youths.

Responding, Shema, represented by his deputy, Abdullahi Faskari, commended the ecological funds office for installing the machine in the state.

He also urged the office to hasten the release of N6.8 billion for the control of soil erosion in some parts of the state.

The governor called for the resuscitation of Ruma-Kukar-Jangare Forest Reserve in order to protect the environment.
