Abuja - The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) is to inaugurate a new commercial driver’s licence on Monday as part of an effort to restore integrity to the document.The FRSC disclosed this in a statement issued by Mr Jonas Agwu, the Public Education Officer on Sunday.The statement urged applicants for the “E Class” licence to attend certified driving schools and undergo the required medical tests at government hospitals in order to obtain the document."They can apply on-line for the payment and collection of the temporary licence from the States Board of Internal Revenue or Drivers’ Licence Centres."The temporary driver’s licence will last for 60 days to allow for verification of owner’s data before the production of a permanent driver’s licence for three-year duration," it said.The statement added that the document could be processed at the FRSC’s operational driver’s licence centres in all states and the FCT.Meanwhile, the FRSC has urged motorists yet-to-migrate from the old to new number plate to do so on or before Oct. 1, 2013, adding that “all old number plates and drivers’ licence will cease to be valid’’ on that date.- NAN
