Lagos - The man who allegedly defrauded worshippers of more than N3 million as payment to secure accommodation for a Muslim holiday overseas has appeared before the Kano State High Court.
Safiyanu Umar is facing a four-count charge bordering on conspiracy and obtaining money by false pretence after allegedly defrauded Salisu Bkeke along with eight others to the tune of N3, 05 million in the guise of helping them obtain visa, air ticket, transportation and accommodation in Saudi Arabia for the 2013 lesser Hajj.

It is alleged Umar falsely represented yourself that you are operating a Travel Agency capable of obtaining visa and other travel documents.
The accused is pleading not guilty to all the charges.
The matter has been adjourned to May 21 for trial. The accused has been remanded in prison custody.
