Kogi - The family of an Islamic Studies lecturer at the Kogi State University, Dr. Nazif Yunus, who was arrested on the suspicion that he is a member of the militant sect, Boko Haram, has demanded his release, Punch reports.
Yunus was arrested by operatives of the State Security Service, Plateau State Command, on the 29 October, 2013 and later transferred to Abuja.

In a statement issued in Jos on Sunday by his wife, Sa’adatu Yunus, the family said that his incarceration, two years after he was arrested, was inhuman and unjustified.
The wife said his continuous detention is inappropriate since the youths that claimed he was “their spiritual leader” had since been discharged and released after the SSS said it had no case against them.
