Lagos - Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola has assured the victims of the Balogun market inferno of assistance from the state government, Vanguard reports.
Fashola who was at the scene of the incident, said the the government would work with officials of the market to verify losses, adding that relief would be provided to victims as soon as enumeration of traders was completed.

Property worth millions of naira were said to be lost in the inferno that razed over 150 shops including five shopping plazas.
Director of the state's fire service, Rasaq Fadipe, said the cause of the fire had not been ascertained, but an electrical fault around the market was suspected.
