Federal government commended over kerosene initiative

29 January 2015, 20:28

Gusau - The Zamfara Government on Thursday commended the Federal Government Kerosene Correct Project aimed at making the product available at N50 per litre.

The Permanent Secretary in the state Ministry of Commerce, Bala Gusau, gave the commendation while supervising the kerosene sale points at the NNPC Mega station in Gusau.

Gusau said making the commodity available to the end users at N50 per litre would go a long way in reducing the suffering of the masses while checking deforestration.

"When I heard about the price, I couldn't believe it. But now that it has been launched, we are grateful over the development,’’ Gusau said.

He urged members of the public to be orderly as they troop out to benefit from the government gesture.

Also speaking at the occasion, the NNPC Depot Manager, Sani Adamu, gave an assurance that the management would ensure that kerosene was provided at control price.

Adamu, however, urged the people of the state to cooperate with the NNPC staff during the exercise.
