Kano - The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Kano Command, DSP Rilwanu Dutse, on Wednesday confirmed the death of five secondary school students in an auto crash.
Dutse told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kano that the accident happened on Tuesday along the Kano Eastern Bye-pass.
He said that the vehicle was heading toward Hotoro from Na’ibawa in the state capital.
According to him, all occupants of the vehicle were from Dakata quarters and were confirmed dead at the Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital, Kano.
Meanwhile, an eye-witness who pleaded anonymity, told NAN the crash happened around 8.00 p.m. on Tuesday.
He said that the driver of the vehicle, a Peugeot 406, lost control while heading toward Hotoro area.
‘’The car somersaulted three times before it skidded off the road and fell into a ditch.
‘’All the five occupants of the vehicle died instantly,’’ he said said.
