Ondo - Former Minister of Education, Dr Olaiy Oni has died
at the age of 74 after suffering from a long illness, Pulse reported.
It has been alleged that the former minister died Sunday
afternoon after he had been rushed to the Federal Medical Centre three days
before his passing.
Oni, headed the Ministry of Education under the regime of
Gen. Abdusalami Abubakar from August 1998 until May 1999.

According to reports, Oni had been bed ridden for a long
time at his home time in Ekiti State.
The fomer Minister of Education has also been the pioneer
chairman of the Labour Party in Ondo State and later defunct to the Action
Congress of Nigeria.
