Yobe - The Commissioner of Police in Yobe, Mr Patrick Egbuniwe, has confirmed that four police men were killed and four others wounded in Monday's attack in Damaturu.
Three Improvised Explosive Devices were recovered while some suspected persons had been arrested.
Egbuniwe said some of the gunmen were killed in the exchange of fire between them and security agents on Monday.
He said the number of civilian casualty could not be verified yet as victims were being taken to hospital.
He gave the assurance that security agents were working hard to restore peace and normalcy across the state.
Meanwhile, residents are now experiencing water scarcity as the taps are dry while water vendors no longer operate.
Similarly, shops and other business centres in Damaturu remained closed with the roads deserted; while residents remained indoors as security agents patrolled the streets.
People taking refuge at Government Science Secondary School, Damaturu were facing shortage of food, water and sanitary facilities.
