Abuja - Yobe State Governor, Ibrahim Gaidam, has directed free medical treatment for terror victims until they are discharged from hospital.
He said he was deeply shocked and outraged by the loss of life and suffering caused by the attacks in Katarko and Potiskum town in which at least 17 people were killed and many more injured.
The governor, in a statement released by his spokesman, Mallam Abdullahi Bego, described the attacks as "senseless, heinous and barbaric and totally unjustifiable."
He expressed his administration's solidarity with the families of the victims at this loss, praying that Allah grants eternal repose to those killed and quick recovery to those who sustained various degrees of injury.
He called on the people of the state to remain ever more vigilant to happenings around their communities and to promptly report any suspicious persons or objects to security agents.
Yobe is one of three states under emergency rule as a result of terrorism largely perpetrated by the Boko Haram sector.
