Abuja - The Federal Government on Tuesday commissioned a 102 units ministerial pilot housing scheme funded by the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN).
Speaking at the commissioning in Suleja, Niger State, Minister of Lands Housing and Urban Development, Akon Eyakenyi commended President Goodluck Jonathan for the impressive steps the present administration has taken in the last four years to revamp and re-invigorate the housing sector to ensure that Nigerians have access to affordable and quality housing.

Eyakenyi said the commissioning of the housing which is the first of such exercise in the six geo-political zones of the country is a demonstration of the desire of the President to bring affordable houses to the doorsteps of citizens particularly low income earners.
She disclosed that the ministry provided the land, the project was funded by FMBN while the developers were responsible for the actual construction based on specifications and timelines.
