Bayelsa - The Bayelsa State government has expressed that it
will be monitoring loans granted to youths in order to avoid the misapplication
of funds, Punch reported.
The State Commissioner for Youth Development, Collins
Cocodia, made this known during a briefing that was held in Yenagoa.
According to the commissioner funds were given to youth that
had graduated from government skills acquisition programmes and some are still
living below the poverty gap even though such arrangements are being done.

Cocodia has condemned the attitude of some youth, expressing
most would rather purchase expensive cars and do other things that are not
required to use the money for.
He further stated students that are well deserving should be
granted the loan rather than fraudulent youths who use the money for other
