Jalingo - A 45-year old security guard, Sa'idu Babura, on Monday committed suicide by hanging in the premises of Hassan Primary School, Jalingo.
The lifeless body of the deceased was found dangling on the top of one of the trees in the school.
It was gathered from neighbours that the deceased had been a drug addict for many years.
The deceased was said to have worked as security guard at a residence near Federal Medical Centre, Jalingo, for six years.
It was also gathered that the deceased, who had been on admission for months at the Psychiatric Unit of Jalingo Specialist Hospital, later escaped from the hospital.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) ASP Joseph Kwaji, who confirmed the incident, said that preliminary investigation showed that the deceased was an indigene of Babura Local Government, Jigawa.
