Gombe - The Police in Gombe State on Tuesday confirmed the killing of Adamu Mamman, the Acting Director of Security Matters, Government House, by unknown gunmen.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Fwaje Atajiri, told newsmen that the incident happened on Monday at about 7:00 p.m at Kumbiya Kumbiya quarters in Gombe, residence of the deceased.
He said the matter was being investigated and appealed to the public to provide the police with useful information that could lead to the arrest of the assailants.
The PPRO said the police in Gombe were doing all they could to unravel the mystery behind the killing.
Atajiri also appealed to the public to remain calm as the police were committed to the security of lives and property in the state.
The deceased’s son, Garba Inuwa, said he was with his father in front of the house when two men came in a commercial tricycle, alighted and fired at the deceased.
Garba said that the attackers shot the father on the chest, stomach and back.
The late Adamu Maman had been buried.
