Nasarawa - Association of beef marketers in Nasarawa State has threatened to stop supplying beef to the markets if the ongoing Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU strike is not resolved, Leadership reports.
The beef marketers said they are giving the federal government a two-week ultimatum to meet the demands of the striking lecturers or they will stop supplying beef to the markets.
They implored President Goodluck Jonathan to meet with the lecturers in order to address the lingering crisis so that the lecturers that have been on strike since July 1 over the failure of the federal government to implement the 2009 agreement both parties agreed on will resume work.
President Goodluck Jonathan met with the executive members of ASUU on Wednesday.
