Imo police recover 45 stolen vehicles

23 April 2013, 11:39

Owerri - The Imo Police Command on Monday announced the recovery of 45 vehicles and arrest of 102 suspects within 60 days.

The command said the recovery of the vehicles was part of its campaign against crime in the state.

Briefing newsmen in Owerri, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Musa Katsina, assured the residents of the command's resolve to rid the state of crime.

Katsina advised members of the public to come forth with proof of ownership to collect the recovered items.

The command also paraded five suspected drug dealers, three of whom were students of the North America University in Cotonou, with nine compressed parcels of substance believed to be hard drugs.

The commissioner raised alarm at the rate at which illegal substances were consumed by miscreants.

``The rate at which these dangerous drugs are peddled and consumed by these miscreants is alarming, but it explains why they are undeterred, vicious and unrepentant in their deadly mission," he said.
