Lafia - 27 protesters have been arrested by the Nasarawa Police Command along UAC road Lafia, the state capital after the protest allegedly turned violent on Thursday, Premium Times reports.
The protest, which was in respect to the alleged plot by the State House of Assembly to impeach the governor, Ahmad Umaru Al-Makura, allegedly became violent, when the supporters of the governor allegedly destroyed posters and billboards belonging to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The governor, who defected to the All Progressive Congress (APC) with five other state governors from the PDP, was served an impeachment notice by the State House of Assembly on Tuesday.
