Yola - An Adamawa State High Court has thrown out an application by the Adamawa State Governor, Murtala Nyako, seeking to restrain the state House of Assembly from commencing impeachment process against him, Daily Times reports.
Delivering the ruling, the acting chief judge of the state, Justice Ambrose Mamadi said no breach of the provisions of the 1999 Constitution as amended was committed by the state lawmakers.
The House of Assembly had on Wednesday directed the acting chief judge to set up a seven-man panel to investigate alleged impeachable offences committed by Nyako and his deputy.
