Abuja - Chidi Loyd, the majority leader of the House River State House of Assembly, said he received death threats a day after the violence that occurred at the assembly.
Loyd was injured during a melee following the rowdy session on Tuesday.
"While in the hospital here, I have received phone calls of threat to my life and that of my family. I am so helpless I do not know who to run to.
"I cannot go to the commissioner of police because he is compromised. He is on the other side. Nigerians must for pray me. The state is under siege. One cannot even vouch for the safety of the Governor," alleged Loyd.
The Rivers State House of Assembly witnessed a rowdy session on Tuesday after clashes between pro-Governor Rotimi Amaechi legislators and others campaigning for his impeachment.
Loyd feared a recurrence of such incidents.
"It happened in Anambra State and people were laughing. Now this has happened in Rivers State. Nobody knows where this will happen next,"
