Inspector-General makes new promotions

Abuja -The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Abubakar, has decorated some newly promoted Senior Police Officers in line with retaining morale among the uniformed forces.

Abayomi Shogunle, Deputy Force Public Relations Officer, announced the promotions from the Force Headquarters Abuja on Tuesday.

He said Grace Chita Okudo was decorated as Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG), Elias Okafor Wayemeru, and Henry Adebayo Fadairo were decorated as Commissioner of Police (CP) while the Force Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba, and Yusuf Chiromawa Usman were decorated as Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP).

Shogunle said the IGP congratulated the officers and emphasized the need for greater commitment to the current fight against terrorism and all forms of crimes and criminality.

“The IGP charged the officers to justify their elevation by rededicating themselves to their core mandate and the advancement of the positive image of the Force."

The Police High Command recently promoted over 210 Senior Police Officers.
