Maiduguri - The Joint Task Force (JTF) on Operation Restore Order (ORO) on Monday confirmed the killing of nine construction workers by unknown persons in Maiduguri.
JTF spokesman, Lt.-Col. Sagir Musa, who confirmed the killings in a statement issued in Maiduguri, said the victims were murdered in their house at Bolori area of the metropolis.
"Information available to JTF revealed that the nine construction workers working at the Maiduguri Central Mosque were massacred by suspected terrorists at about 01:45 on Monday.
"The victims were living in a compound located at Bolori general area, in the metropolis. The incident was reported to the JTF at 06:05 when the dastardly act was completed.
"JTF troops rushed to the compound and saw the bodies, which have now been deposited at the mortuary of the Borno State Specialist Hospital," he said.
Musa said that no arrest had been made in connection with the incident, but that efforts were being made to arrest the culprits.
