Brig. Gen. Shehu Yusuf, the Commander, 13 Brigade, told newsmen in Calabar that the products were intercepted at about 3:13 a.m. on Sunday at 8th Miles Junction, Calabar.

According to him, the trucks carrying 200,000 litres of diesel had registration numbers - Yobe XA 623 GJB; Kano  SML-19 XA; Adamawa XA 569-MUB; Taraba, XA 408 SDA and Cross River XA 477 KTA.

"We will not rest until bunkering activities are completely wiped out in the state," he said.

He called on other security agencies to share information and collaboration to achieve the overall goal of stamping out economic sabotage in the country.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reports that the five tankers had also been destroyed by burning.
