Damaturu - The Joint Task Force (JTF) on security in Yobe, said that four gunmen had been killed in a gun battle on Tuesday in Giedam.
A statement issued on Wednesday by the JTF Spokesman, Lt. Eli Lazarus, said the gunmen attacked a JTF location but were over-powered and killed.
"The gunmen attacked the location but men of the task force repelled the attack and killed four of the gunmen."
The spokesman said that three AK 47 rifles, five magazines and 72 rounds of ammunitions were recovered from the attackers.
Lazarus expressed the determination of the task force to ensuring peace and security in Yobe.
He urged members of the public to continue assisting security operatives with useful information on all suspicious movements in their localities.
