Abuja - President Goodluck Jonathan has appointed former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi as the chairman of the the Securities and Exchange Commission, (SEC).
Obi’s appointment was contained in a statement released Tuesday by the Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs to the President, Reuben Abati.

The former governor had defected from the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, shortly after he left office in 2014.
The president also confirmed the appointment of Mounir Haliru Gwarzo as the director-general of SEC.
