Abuja - President Goodluck Jonathan on Wednesday celebrated five years since he took over the mantle of the nation’s leadership, reports Vanguard
Jonathan took over the leadership of Nigeria as substantive President on May 6, 2010 following the death of late President Umaru Yar’Adua.
Jonathan celebrated the event with members of Federal Executive Council (FEC) since the day coincided with the weekly meeting of the council.

Jonathan took the cabinet members by surprise when he arrived the Council Chambers and announced that a member was celebrating his birthday.
When the ministers could not identify the person celebrating, President Jonathan reminded them that the 6th of May, 2015 marks his 5th year anniversary as substantive President.
The President then directed two members to pray according to Christian and Islamic injunctions.
While the Minister of Power, Chinedu Nebo, an ordained minister in the Anglican communion prayed in the Christian way, the Minister of State for Finance, Bashir Yuguda, offered prayers in the Islamic way.
