Lagos - President Goodluck Jonathan was expected back in the country later Tuesday following a private visit to the United Kingdom.
The head of state left Abuja on Sunday afternoon.
According to a statement, some of his principal staff and personal aides accompanied Jonathan on the trip.

"He is expected back in Abuja ahead of official engagements at the Presidential Villa on Tuesday including scheduled audiences with groups from Delta and Lagos States,” Reuben Abati, the President’s spokesman, said in a statement.
