Abia - President Goodluck Jonathan on Wednesday said the rehabilitation of the Enugu-Port Harcourt dual carriageway would make goods and services cheaper in the area.
Jonathan said this while inaugurating the rehabilitation of the 41km Aba-Port Harcourt section of the Enugu-Port Harcourt dual carriageway at Alaoji, Ugwunagbo Local Government Area of in Abia.
Jonathan, represented by Minister of Works, Mike Onolememen, said the rehabilitation was a demonstration of his administration's commitment to development of roads in line with transformation agenda.

"My administration recognises the importance of road infrastructure to the socio-economic development of any nation.
"This road will go a long way in reducing the time of travel on this route, road crashes and cost of maintaining vehicles plying the road.
"The overall effect is the reduction in the cost of transport of goods and services.
"It is also consistent with the effort of my administration to deliver good quality roads in all the geo-political zones in order to boost socio-economic activities nationwide", he said.
The President urged the people of the South-East to cooperate with the administration in its determination to entrench solid road infrastructure base for present and future generations.
