Jonathan vows Boko Haram won't claim control again

19 March 2015, 21:57

Abuja - The Government will ensure terrorists will never occupy any area in the country again, President Gooluck Jonathan has said.

He was addressing a crowd of People's Democratic Party supporters, who thronged to the rally ground in Damaturu in Yobe State.

An upbeat Jonathan hailed the liberation of the state from the Boko Haram.

As I speak, I am so happy to announced that Yobe has been freed of Boko Haram as all territories earlier under the control of the sect members have been recaptured by our able troops. We will henceforth resist any attempt by the sect members or any group to take control of any territory, Jonathan said.

He expressed sadness that Boko Haram members have been causing havoc to innocent people and destroying various communities, stressing that such era is over.

It is unfortunate that our brothers and sisters have turn mad against us and have left us with these sad memories, he said.
