Abuja - The People's Democratic Party (PDP) has commended President Goodluck Jonathan for his visit to terror hotspots in the troubled northeastern parts of the country.
According to the ruling party, the President's visit to Baga in Borno State and Mubi in Adamawa State on Thursday would boost the morale of the soldiers.
“We wish to commend President Goodluck Jonathan for boosting the morale of our gallant soldiers with a visit to Baga in Bornu State and Mubi in Adamawa State,” PDP stated.
"His able leadership has resulted in the huge successes recorded by our Armed Forces in the fight against insurgency,” the party added said in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary Olisa Metuh.

Jonathan's visit to the country's terror hotspots comes amid reports by the army it was scoring successes against the militant Boko Haram sect.
He has previously come under criticism for his handling of the terror crisis, most prominently his failure to visit Chibok in Borno State where militants abducted more than 200 schoolchildren last April.
Efforts to rescue the girls have been fruitless thus far.
