24 September 2013, 19:37

Kano - The Kano State Government has trained 395 youths on modern security techniques and surveillance, Gov. Rabiu Kwankwaso, has said.

Kwankwaso, who announced this in Kano on Tuesday during the graduation of the youths, said the training was organised to empower the youths in the state.

He said that the participants were selected from all the local government areas of the state.

He said that the participants were trained for three months at the Cooperate Security Institute in Gabasawa Local Government Area.

Kwankwaso said that government organised the training to erase the stereotype way of employing aged men as security guards in residential buildings and in government establishments.

The Commandant of the Institute, Alhaji Ibrahim Bichi, commended the government for supporting the youths in the state.

He urged the graduates to make best use of the knowledge acquired during the training to become self-reliant.
